Veteran journalist and Editor-in-Chief of ‘Thamillan’ newspaper, Ramaswamy Sivarajah, has been appointed as a Director of Liberty Publications (Pvt) Ltd. This appointment marks a significant milestone in Sri Lankan media history. Sivarajah becomes the first editor to hold such a position since the editor of ‘Dinapathi’, the Tamil newspaper of the famous Dawasa newspaper group, published by M.D. Gunasena Company was appointed as a director of the Gunasena Company.
Sivarajah joined ‘Veerakesari’ newspaper as a trainee reporter in 1995, later serving as a producer at MTV and then as a sub-editor at ‘Thinakkural’ newspaper. In 2009, he was appointed Editor-in-Chief of ‘Sudaroli’ newspaper, part of the renowned Uthayan newspaper group, before joining Liberty Publications in 2017.
