As Sri Lanka's opposition gears up for a major rally on the 21st in Nugegoda, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organizer Namal Rajapaksa declared, "On the 21st, we are ready to show the government the strength of the opposition."

In response to recent high-profile killings and growing concerns over the safety of opposition Members of Parliament (MPs), authorities have agreed to provide necessary security to all MPs who request it. This significant decision was announced today (October 31) by Parliamentarian Jagath Vithanage.

A representative motion has been put forward at the Kurunegala Municipal Council to recover Rs. 3.75 million from Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Namal Karunaratne. The motion was presented by Sumedha Arunashantha, the Opposition Leader of the Kurunegala Municipal Council, representing the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abesinghe has initiated legal action against Waruna Rajapaksha, sending a legal letter demanding compensation for defamation following statements made by Rajapaksha on his YouTube channel concerning a liquor manufacturing license. In response, Rajapaksha alleges he is the target of an organized operation orchestrated from "Pelawatte" with the sole aim of destroying him.

Public activist Asela Sampath has strongly condemned the severe protests currently being launched by several civil organizations against Galigamuwe Gnanadeepa Thero and their requests for the removal of his sermons from media channels. The activist accuses these actions of being "childish and degenerate acts that insult Buddhism."

The case against former President and current President Ranil Wickremesinghe, involving charges of misusing state funds, is scheduled to be heard tomorrow, October 29th, at the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court.
