Sajith Premadasa Backs Out of Opposition Protest, Claims He Feels Like President

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has decided not to participate in the opposition protest organized for November 21st in Nugegoda by several political parties.

SJB Member of Parliament S.M. Marikkar stated at a press conference in Colombo that their party holds a separate ideology and is fulfilling the role of the opposition independently. He added that the party would therefore not attend the rally. No one from the SJB also joined the press conference held to inform the public about the opposition rally.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa recently addressed a public meeting at a school in Vilachchiya, Anuradhapura district, where he declared that he “feels like the President.” He further elaborated, “As I listen to these problems for a long time here, it occurred to me whether these problems are being presented to President Sajith Premadasa. Sometimes I wonder why people come to me with their problems when they have given a mandate to the government to solve them.”

At a time when Ranil Wickremesinghe is attempting to stabilize the country, Sajith Premadasa reportedly “backed out through the back door,” while SJB economic expert Harsha de Silva took an “extremely irresponsible” stance, claiming the country’s economy could not be rebuilt. At that moment, Mr. Ranil Wickremesinghe acted to stabilize the country by appointing a talented young group from the Pohottuwa party (such as Shehan Semasinghe and Kanchana Wijesekera) as cabinet ministers. Therefore, the “crocodile tears” of Sajith and Harsha, who prioritized their political future over the country, have become a joke.

According to the so-called advisors and media gurus who mentor Sajith Premadasa, if Namal Rajapaksa’s votes are split by the Jathika Jana Balawegaya (NPP), Sajith Premadasa could automatically become president. However, we believe it is the responsibility of those who love the country to collectively defeat Sajith and Harsha, who thought about their politics instead of the country. Therefore, we are confident that when the NPP’s support dwindles, the president will be a gentleman who loves the country, not Sajith-Harsha, because those who drift away from the NPP need a new alternative.
