In a dramatic turn during a political discussion program, Waruna Rajapaksha, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Gampaha District Organizer, fiercely confronted a National People’s Power (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP), revealing details of an ongoing land fraud case against the father of an NPP MP.
The incident unfolded on Derana’s ‘Wadapitiya’ program, where NPP MP Upul Abeywickrama had commented on a past accusation against Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa’s sister regarding the printing of counterfeit currency.
Responding to MP Abeywickrama’s accusations, Waruna Rajapaksha challenged the NPP to immediately act on the old accusation against Sajith Premadasa’s sister, now that the NPP government is in power.
Furthermore, Rajapaksha declared that a lawsuit has been filed against the father of NPP MP Lakmali Hemachandra for allegedly selling the same land to two different individuals. He brought a B Report (police report) related to the accusation and presented it to MP Upul Abeywickrama, urging the government to investigate and take immediate action.

Social media commentators have pointed out that by criticizing Sajith Premadasa’s personal matters, MP Upul Abeywickrama inadvertently put his own party’s MP, Lakmali Hemachandra, in an uncomfortable position due to the accusations against her father.
