Colombo Fort Magistrate Isuru Neththi Kumara yesterday (29) issued a stern order to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to expedite the investigation concerning former President Ranil Wickremesinghe and present the connected suspects to court.
The Magistrate specifically drew attention to incidents that occurred near the court on a previous day. The CID was further directed to investigate whether contempt of court had taken place, identify those responsible, and inform the court of the actions to be taken against them at the next hearing.
The case is scheduled to be called again on January 28 next year for the CID to submit further information to the court regarding this important investigation.
